| Motorcycle Use on the Rise due to High Gas Prices |
The Virginia Freedom Riders, a Virginia motorcyclists' rights organization, joins CMT/ABATE, Tennessee's motorcyclists' rights organization, and ABATE of West Virginia, in reminding drivers that with the rising cost of gasoline, motorcycle use will increase during the next days and weeks.
September 9, 2005 -- The Virginia Freedom Riders, along with other State Motorcycle Rights Organizations (SMROs), is urging motorists to use extra caution while traveling and commuting. The number one cause of motorcycle accidents is inattentive motorists who fail to see a motorcycle and violate the motorcyclist's right of way.
Motorcycles once used primarily on weekends are now seeing duty as commuter vehicles, offering up to twice the fuel mileage of the average mid-size automobile and several times the mileage of big trucks and SUV's. Remember, motorcycles are entitled to a full lane of traffic and deserve the same respect as any other vehicle on the road.
Look Twice Save a Life! Motorcycles are EVERYWHERE!
